INTRODUCING: The Canadian Blanket
Welcome to Macgee Cloth Company
Keeping a Tradition Alive
Authentic Canadian heirloom blankets and scarves
Our blankets and scarves are woven on antique shuttle looms in our mill in Tracy, New Brunswick. We use traditional fibres carefully sourced from ecologically and ethically sound suppliers, and finish each blanket by hand.
Beautifully Finished
All of our blankets and scarves feature a true selvedge edge and are finished by hand, down to the hand-cut fringe and label sewn on by hand.
Ethically Sourced and Ecologically Sound
We use only 100% Canadian wool from Briggs and Little, Canada's oldest woolen mill in New Brunswick, Canada, and 100% new lambswool from Gledhill Spinners in Yorkshire, UK. Our organic cotton came from the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, which was primarily grown using dry farming techniques.
We know the exact source of all fibres in our blankets
Our wools are grown, spun, and dyed in Canada or the UK. Each blanket is listed as from one source or the other.
The cotton we use is organic, ring-spun, and was grown and marketed by the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, and certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
