Authentic Canadian heirloom blankets and scarves
Our blankets and scarves are woven on antique shuttle looms, using traditional fibres carefully sourced from ecologically and ethically sound suppliers, and finished by hand.
Welcome to Macgee Cloth Company
The Macgee Cloth Company is a heritage textile mill in New Brunswick, Canada. We craft beautiful bespoke blankets in the great tradition of heirloom weaving on reclaimed antique Dobcross shuttle looms with ethically sourced fibres.
Keeping a Tradition Alive
Beautifully Finished
All of our blankets and scarves feature a true selvedge edge and are finished by hand, down to the hand-cut fringe and label sewn on by hand.
Ethically Sourced and Ecologically Sound
We use only 100% new lambswool from Gledhill Spinners in Yorkshire, UK, and organic cotton from the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, primarily grown using dry farming techniques.
We know the exact source of all fibres in our blankets
We use organic, ring-spun cotton in our warp and either lambswool or the same cotton in the weft. Our cotton is grown and marketed by the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative, and certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture. Not only is it grown organically, but most Co-op members practice dryland farming techniques, relying on natural weather cycles rather than large amounts of irrigation water to grow their cotton.
